Summit Elementary School/McComb School District wins an American Ninja Warrior Field Day!
Project Fit America’s Fitness Ambassador from the NBC Television Show American Ninja Warrior, Dorian Cedars, led a Ninja Warrior Field day at Summit Elementary!!
The Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation hosted four Project Fit America Physical Education Conferences bringing together physical education teachers from around the state. Provided with Foundation grant funds, participants received hands-on education with Project Fit America trainers, including indoor physical fitness equipment and curricula to enhance their schools’ P.E. programs. For their active participation, PE Teachers were entered into a drawing to win a turn-key American Ninja Warrior Field Day that included a Ninja Warrior coming to the school demonstrating incredible athletic skills on the Project Fit America equipment as well as interactive Ninja Challenges with the students!
Summit Elementary School’s PE teacher, Takeya Felder, was one of three schools selected out of 60 P.E. teachers for an American Ninja Warrior Field Day.
“The Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation is proud to partner with K-8 schools as they implement and sustain structured physical education programs,” said Eugenia King, Director of the Blue Cross & and Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation.
“We are confident Summit Elementary School students will benefit from this program and from making health and fitness a regular part of their lives.”
